Searching flights with miles

Last updated April 23, 2025

Rove makes it easy to search and book flights with your Rove Miles—while giving you access to two powerful ways to redeem: Direct Booking and Transfer Booking. Both appear in your search results, clearly separated so you can choose based on your preference for convenience or maximum value.

Direct Booking: Instant Simplicity

With Direct Booking, everything happens on the Rove platform.

Book instantly using your Rove Miles

Receive a confirmation code immediately

Check in directly with the airline—no transfers or extra steps

These bookings use dynamic pricing, and redemption value typically ranges from 1.25 to 1.5 cents per mile. It’s simple, fast, and often still significantly better than the 1 cent per mile value you’d get through most credit card travel portals.

Transfer Booking: Maximize Your Miles

Transfer Bookings are the high-value option for savvy travelers.

In this case, your Rove Miles convert into the currency of our partner airline loyalty programs. While it involves a few more steps, the upside is significant:

  • Up to 10 cents per mile value on some redemptions
  • Average value of 2–3 cents per mile
  • Potential discounts up to 90% vs. standard pricing on credit card travel portals

Our search tool combs through select loyalty programs we’ve partnered with to surface the best available award deals—automating much of the travel hacking process. We’re continuing to expand these integrations, so more transfer partners will be available over time.

When you select a Transfer Booking:

  1. We show you the miles needed from the partner program.
  2. You’ll be directed to confirm the seat availability with the airline.
  3. Then, you can transfer your Rove Miles to the partner program and complete your booking.

Choose What Works Best for You

Whether you want a quick, no-hassle booking or you’re chasing maximum value, Rove gives you the tools to do both. Search once, compare both options, and book however works best for your trip.
