Best Practices & Troubleshooting for the Chrome Shopping Extension

Last updated December 2, 2025

Using the Rove shopping extension on Chrome is one of the easiest ways to earn extra Rove Miles on everyday purchases. Follow these best practices to ensure your miles track correctly, and use the troubleshooting steps below if something doesn’t look right.

1. Click “Activate” Before You Buy

Always click Activate on the Rove extension before completing your purchase. This ensures your session is properly tracked and your miles are credited.

2. Use Only One Cashback or Miles Extension

Running multiple extensions at the same time can break tracking. Make sure only one cashback or rewards extension is active at any given time.

3. Complete Checkout in the Same Tab

After activating the offer, stay in the same browser tab as you check out. Switching tabs, closing the window, or reopening the retailer later may prevent miles from tracking.

Troubleshooting Tips

1. Temporarily Disable Ad Blockers

Ad blockers, privacy filters, or VPNs can interfere with tracking. Turn them off during your purchase if you notice issues.

2. Allow Cookies

Cookies must be enabled for proper tracking. Check your browser settings to ensure cookies aren’t blocked.

3. Check Your Activity Tab

After your purchase, open the Activity tab in your Rove account. If your transaction appears here, tracking was successful. If it doesn’t show up after a short delay, the session may not have tracked.

If a purchase fails to track after following these steps, you can always reach out to  support@rovemiles.com . We’re happy to help review it.
